Embarking on a career path is often a journey filled with exploration, discovery, and the occasional unexpected turn. My journey into the world of analog layout engineering began after I completed my studies and embarked on an eye-opening internship.
After graduating from the Faculty of Technical Sciences at the University of Novi Sad, specifically from the Department for Power, Electronics, and Telecommunications, I took on my first internship in the automotive industry. This experience was enlightening and interesting, but I felt the urge to explore something different. The structured environment and specific nature of the automotive industry didn’t quite align with my long-term career aspirations. This realization led me to start researching other fields and opportunities.
During my research, I stumbled upon Analog IC Layout Engineering. The more I learned about it, the more it seemed like the perfect fit for my skills and interests. However, theoretical knowledge alone wasn’t enough for me to make a definitive decision. To gain practical insight, I secured an internship at Elsys. This hands-on experience was pivotal in shaping my career choice. Working in an environment focused on analog layout allowed me to immerse myself in the day-to-day challenges and rewards of the profession. The internship not only confirmed my interest but also fueled my passion for this intricate and detailed field of engineering.
Today, I proudly hold the position of an Analog IC Layout Engineer. This role is both challenging and rewarding. One of the aspects I find most fascinating is the meticulous nature of the job. Achieving the final result in analog layout engineering requires immense patience, precision, and perseverance. Each project demands a high level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills, but the sense of accomplishment that comes with completing a project is unparalleled.
My academic journey provided a strong foundation in technical knowledge, which has been invaluable in my professional development. The blend of theory and practical applications I encountered during my studies equipped me with the skills necessary to excel in this field.
Analog IC layout engineering is a field that may not be widely known but is crucial in the world of electronics and technology. For anyone considering a career in this area, I encourage gaining practical experience through internship in Elsys. The challenges are significant, but the rewards make it a deeply fulfilling career choice.
